Introduction
The Senior Wing of KC Model School & College has two sections namely the Secondary Section and Higher Secondary Section. The Secondary Section comprises five classes i.e. Class VI to X in both Bangla and English Versions. Each of these classes is divided into a number of sections/ forms of around 30 students. The number of sections varies from year to year depending upon the number of students enrolled. Similarly, the Higher Secondary Section consists of two classes i.e. Class XI and Class XII. The students of each of these classes are grouped into Science, Business Studies, and Humanities. The number of sections of each of these groups depends on the number of students. Besides, it has both Bangla and English Versions.
Administration
Each of the sections is headed by a Vice Principal. In addition to them, there are two Coordinators and two acting Coordinators who put in their efforts to run the Secondary and Higher Secondary sections’ activities smoothly. All the VPs and Coordinators work directly under the supervision of the Principal. Both sections have a capable and dedicated Teaching Staff who impart quality education combining modern technology and methodology within the framework of a desired state of discipline and strict rules and regulations.
Computer & Other Science Lab
The Institution has one modern Computer Laboratory equipped with more than 30 computers. Learning computers is compulsory for all students. For this reason, every week one period of computer class is allocated to the students of each section. In addition, the institution is having well-furnished Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Labs. The roof garden works as the Agricultural Lab of the institution.
Library Facilities
Both sections have a large common library. It is enriched with different kinds of books written both in Bangla and English. The library is being enriched gradually with new books. It remains open every day from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for the students. Besides, every week one period of library class is allotted to the students of each section of every class except the examinees of public exams.
Co-curricular Activities (CCA)
Both Secondary and Higher Secondary sections put special emphasis on the co-curricular activities of the students. There are some clubs such as Art Club, Music Club, Science Club, Debate Club, Language Club, and Taekowando Club. The club activities are conducted every Thursday for the students of all classes except JSC, SSC, and HSC candidates. To promote cultural awareness among the students, a yearly cultural week is observed with great zeal and enthusiasm. The cultural week includes Music, Hamd-Nath, Extempore Speech, Quirat’, Debate, Recitation, etc. Students in a large number participate in the said competitions.
Observance of National Days
The Institution holds different national festivals with great enthusiasm and fervor every year. International Mother Language Day, the Birthday of Bangabandhu and National Children's Day, Independence Day, National Mourning Day, and Victory Day are noteworthy.
Teachers’ Training
The Institution holds one or more yearly Teachers’ Training workshops to enhance the academic performances of the teachers. As a result, teachers can keep pace with the modern teaching technique practiced in globally renowned institutions.
